A CAECS is an emission control strategy that has been issued an Executive Order and approved for use to comply with the 2020 Regulation. Executive Orders include annual performance monitoring requirements, which include annual data submissions (continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS)) to CARB for review. CARB reviews the submitted data to verify the CAECS is operating in accordance with its Executive Order. If any potential operational issues are identified in the data, CARB staff may follow-up with the CAECS provider to ensure the CAECS is operating correctly and meeting the requirements of Section 93130.5 of the 2020 Regulation. CARB issues annual letters summarizing the data review, any potential concerns identified, and any resolution to address the concerns identified in the data.
