Angel's Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $9,625
In March 2014, Angel’s Trucking Inc., agreed to pay $9,625.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $7,218.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,407.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Angel’s Trucking Inc., failed to bring the heavy duty diesel fleet and transportable refrigeration units in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the Truck and Bus Regulation, and TRU Air Toxic Control Measure regulation. To settle the case, Angel’s Trucking Inc., agreed to the $9,625.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, Truck and Bus, and TRU programs.
