Amerisun, Inc.Settles For $575.00

In July 2019, Amerisun, Inc. (AMERISUN) of Itasca, Illinois, settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB).  The case involved illegal Small Off-Road Engines (SORE) installed onto Powersmart lawnmowers distributed by AMERISUN.  Upon further investigation, the units in question were discovered to be mislabeled and did not have an unconditional statement of compliance as required by California Code of Regulations §2404(c)(4)(H).  The units did in fact comply with the emissions requirement of section §2404.  AMERISUN has agreed to pay a $25.00 per unit penalty resulting in a total penalty amount of $575.00.  AMERISUN is now in compliance with the California regulation.
