Ameriplus, Inc. & Sears Holding Management Corporation Case Settles for $34,100

A case was settled with Ameriplus, Inc. and Sears Holdings Management Corporation on December 14, 2015 for selling “Smart Sense All Purpose Pine Cleaner” that exceeded the 0.5 percent by weight VOC limit for the General Purpose Cleaner non-aerosol category. The product was manufactured by Ameriplus as a private label (store brand) for sale at Kmart stores.  Total excess VOC emissions attributable to the violation were calculated to be 1.59 tons.  Ameriplus agreed to pay $34,100 to settle the case.
