Amazon.com, Inc. Case Settles for $5,000

From January 2006 to February 2009, Amazon.com, Inc. directly sold and advertised for sale by third party vendors Blitz USA, 5-gallon Self-Venting Gas Cans and Blitz USA, 6-gallon Self-Venting Gas Cans on their website platform which allowed these non-compliant gas cans to be introduced into California.  Gas cans are subject to the Portable Fuel Containers and Spouts Regulation.  The case with Amazon.com, Inc. was settled on September 9, 2009, with a payment of $5,000.
