Alterna, Inc. Case Settles for $12,850.00

On December 2, 2013, a case was settled with Alterna Holdings Corp. for selling “Bamboo Root Blast” subject to the VOC limit for Hair Styling Products: Aerosol and Pump Sprays category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 6 percent by weight VOC limit. There were approximately 0.05 tons of excess emissions. In addition, the company failed to provide records within the required 90-day time frame as required in Title 17, CCR Section 94513. The company paid $12,850.00 to settle the case.
