All Cartage Transportation, Inc. Case Settles for $39,379
All Cartage Transportation, Inc. will pay $39,379.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $29,534.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $9,845.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in November 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that All Cartage Transportation, Inc. failed to: (1) properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); (2) bring their vehicles into compliance by the deadlines set forth in the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation; and (3) verify that each hired or dispatched vehicle was in compliance with the TB Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to PSIP and TB Regulation. To settle the case, All Cartage Transportation, Inc. agreed to the $39,379.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB Regulation and other ARB programs.
