Alameda County Water District Case Settles for $1,000
In May 2012 Alameda County Water District agreed to pay $1,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $750.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $250.00 will go to the Peralta Community College District.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Alameda County Water District failed to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the Fleet Regulation for Public Agencies and Utilities (PAU). To settle the case, Alameda County Water District agreed to the $1,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Fleet Regulation for Public Agencies and Utilities and other ARB programs.
