Airosol Company Case Settles for $13,400

Airosol Company (Neodesha, Kansas) sold, supplied, and/or offered for sale a non-compliant engine degreaser in California. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of RacePro Super Engine Degreaser that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the ten percent limit for the Engine Degreaser: Aerosol category specified in title 17 California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 0.96 tons of excess VOC emissions, based upon the formulation and the sales information provided by Airosol Company. Airosol Company immediately began reformulation efforts to come into compliance.
