Agri-Mix Transport, Inc. Case Settlement
Agri-Mix Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $18,000
Agri-Mix Transport, Inc. paid $18,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $13,500.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $4,500.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in January 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Agri-Mix Transport, Inc. failed to: (1) report all required information for the diesel trucks for which it elected to utilize the low-use vehicle provision in the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation, (2) bring all its Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards, and (3) properly self-inspect its diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure, the TB Regulation, and the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Agri-Mix Transport, Inc. agreed to the $18,000.00 penalty and to comply with TRU, TB, PSIP, and other ARB programs.
