ACES Waste Services, Inc. Case Settles for $8,000

ACES Waste Services, Inc. (ACES) is an integrated solid waste company based in Pine Grove, California.  In June 2010, ACES agreed to pay $8,000 in penalties; $6,000 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,000 to the Peralta Community College District for violating air quality regulations.  An investigation by the ARB showed that ACES failed to properly self-inspect their diesel vehicles to assure that vehicles met state smoke emission standards.  ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program.  To settle the case ACES agreed to the $8,000 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
