Conversations with CARB’s Executive Office
Conversations with the Executive Office (EO) (Conversations, or Conversations with EO) is an initiative the California Air Resources Board (CARB) piloted in late 2024 to brings communities and interested entities into direct conversation with CARB’s leadership around environmental, air quality, and climate change topics of mutual interest. Staff offer these meetings several times throughout the year virtually or in-person for representatives from non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, community representatives, Tribes, and others to meet with CARB’s Leadership team.
Background
Conversations with EO was developed with the State’s most impacted communities in mind. The goal is two-way, for CARB leadership to build new relationships with entities that may not attend CARB’s board meetings or workshops; and for new entities to better understand and leverage the important work that CARB does across the state. These Conversations allow entities to meet directly with CARB’s Executive Office team and have an informal discussion on their work, challenges, opportunities, CARB priorities, and desired engagement going forward. CARB coordinates with groups and the Executive Office to set up the meeting time and date, develop the meeting agenda, and ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Goals
Through these Conversations, CARB aims to strengthen our partnerships and deepen our understanding of statewide environmental, health, air quality, and climate concerns and opportunities. These Conversations are one piece of CARB’s efforts to engage and is complementary to environmental justice efforts already happening across our programs.
Intake Process and Form
Is your organization interested in participating in a 2026 or future CARB Conversation? CARB invites interested groups to fill out and submit the Microsoft intake form below. Once the form is submitted, staff will reach out to discuss interests and potential timing. Depending on interest, we may create a queue and ensure communications with interested groups continue as opportunities for meetings arise. Groups that want to discuss items going before the Board, or other time-sensitive CARB efforts or activities, are encouraged to participate.
