Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC Case Settles for $30,000
Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC will pay $30,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $22,500.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $7,500.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in December 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC failed to report changes in its off-road fleet per the reporting requirements set forth in the In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets (Off-Road) Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the Off-Road Regulation. To settle the case, Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC agreed to the $30,000.00 penalty and to comply with ORE, ECL, TB, and other ARB programs.
