Spencer Gifts, LLC, Settles For $4,500.00
In April 2020, the California Air Resources Board and Spencer Gifts, LLC (Spencer), of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $4,500.00. Spencer sold, supplied, offered for sale and/or manufactured a “Temporary Hair Color” product for use in California containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (17 CCR), section 94509(a). The VOC violation resulted in 0.006 tons of excess VOC emissions. Additionally, the product did not have a date of manufacture, as required in 17 CCR section 94512(b). To come into compliance, Spencer will ensure that the vendors they use are aware of the Consumer Products Regulations and that the products they purchase are compliant with these regulations.
