$2,000 in Fines Paid by Hunsaker Manufacturing Co.

On January 24, 2005, Enforcement Division staff observed that the Hunsaker Manufacturing Company's website had represented their five-gallon containers for sale as "gas cans." As a result of this representation, staff purchased one of the five-gallon containers on January 27, 2005. This company had been warned twice that these five-gallon containers are not to be sold or distributed as gas cans in California. Apparently the company's webmaster made changes to their web site without the consent or knowledge of management. A total of 18 containers had been shipped to California addresses after the web page had been modified. Hunsaker Manufacturing Company settled this case on June 21, 2005, for payments totaling $2,000.
