Dollar General Corporation Case Settles for $10,000
On December 31, 2014, a case was settled with Dollar General Corporation for selling non-complying “DG Body Nail Polish Remover, Non-Acetone” subject to the volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for the Nail Polish Remover category, and “Krystal Kleer Windshield Washer Fluids, -20F and 0F, subject to the Automotive Windshield Washer Fluid All Other Areas category in the California Consumer Products Regulation. The products contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 1 percent by weight VOC limit for both categories. The violations occurred at their newly opened stores due to the use of an incorrect planogram that allowed non-complying products to be stocked and sold. Excess emissions in this case were approximately 0.50 tons. The company paid $10,000 to settle the case.
