Randy's Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $523,675
In February 2015, Randy’s Trucking, Inc. agreed to pay $523,675.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $392,755.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $130,920.00 went to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District for the school bus retrofit Supplemental Environmental Program (SEP).
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Randy’s Trucking, Inc. did not properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards, make sure that their truck’s engines were labeled properly, or ensure that their trucks met the yearly emissions compliance requirements. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the Emission Control Label (ECL) Regulation, and the Statewide Truck & Bus (STB) Regulation. To settle the case, Randy’s Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $523,675.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, ECL, STB and other ARB programs.
