Dirt and Aggregate Interchange Case Settles for $1,200
In February 2015, Dirt and Aggregate Interchange agreed to pay $1,200.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $900.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $300.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Dirt and Aggregate Interchange had: (1) failed to register their off-road diesel vehicles by the appropriate deadline outlined by the Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation, and (2) failed to properly affix Emission Control Labels on the engines of their fleet vehicles. ARB documented violations as they related to the Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation (ORDV) and Emission Control Label Program (ECL). To settle the case, Dirt and Aggregate Interchange agreed to the $1,200.00 penalty and to comply with the ECL Program, Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation and other ARB programs.
