Rapid Connection, LLC Case Settles for $16,500
In October 2015 the Air Resources Board and Rapid Connection, LLC reached a settlement for violations of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program and Truck and Bus regulation. Rapid Connection, LLC agreed to pay $16,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $4,128.00 will be paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation for education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology Program; and $12,372.00 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund research and projects directed at improving California's air quality.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board found that Rapid Connection, LLC failed to bring 4 of their heavy duty diesel vehicles into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program, and the Truck and Bus Regulation. Rapid Connection, LLC provides transportation to paying passengers from Tijuana, Mexico to various locations in California.
