MP Environmental Services, Inc. Case Settles for $9,250
MP Environmental Services, Inc. will pay $9,250.00in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $6,938.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,312.00 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to fund retrofits and replacements for school buses. This settlement was reached in January 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that MP Environmental Services, Inc. failed to bring four of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the diesel particulate matter best available control technology. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, MP Environmental Services, Inc. agreed to the $9,250.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and other applicable ARB regulations.
