Evening Community Meeting: Clean Transportation Incentives – Clean Mobility Investments, San Diego County Tribal Tour: On Jul 15 via remote access, CARB will continue to host its series of monthly evening community meetings on the third Tuesday of most months. The purpose of these meetings is to host focused discussions on CARB’s Clean Transportation Incentives Funding Plan Development Process, which explains how CARB will spend money on projects related to zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) and improving air quality. Although the Funding Plan is generally developed between May and November, CARB staff will continue to hold monthly evening community meetings outside of the Funding Plan development timeline to provide updates on incentive project implementation, other CARB initiatives, as well as to provide a forum for community members to express their thoughts, concerns, suggestions, and to ask relevant questions. Assembly Bill 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee Meeting: On July 17 in Sacramento and via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting for the Assembly Bill 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC). The committee is comprised of representatives from California communities most heavily impacted by air pollution. This upcoming meeting will include a public comment period.
Public Workgroup on Zero-Emission Assurance Project (ZAP): On Jul 17 via remote access, CARB will host a virtual public workgroup meeting on the Zero-Emission Assurance Project (ZAP[SC1] ) to continue the discussion on ZAP program policy and proposed rolling implementation. ZAP was established by AB 193 (Cervantes, Chapter 363, Statutes of 2018) to help lower-income Californians reduce the risk of buying a used zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) by providing a rebate or vehicle service contract for the replacement battery or fuel cell component.
Community Meeting: Landfill Methane Emissions, Community Perspectives, and Potential Regulation Updates: On Jul 18 in Santa Clarita and via remote access, CARB will hold a community meeting to discuss ongoing concerns related to landfill odors and air emissions, and discuss potential changes to the California Landfill Methane Regulation. This meeting is an opportunity for community members to share their experiences and provide input on potential updates to landfill methane control measures.CARB staff will provide an overview of the current Landfill Methane Regulation, share information about potential updates under consideration, and listen to community feedback to inform future regulatory and program development.
