Benz Sanitation, Inc. and Benz Propane, Inc. Case Settles for $81,000

Benz Sanitation, Inc. and Benz Propane, Inc. will pay $81,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. $81,000 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in July 2017.

An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Benz Sanitation, Inc. and Benz Propane, Inc. failed to bring twenty seven of their heavy duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards.  ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation and the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Regulation. To settle the case, Benz Sanitation, Inc. and Benz Propane, Inc. agreed to the $81,000 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation, Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Regulation and other ARB programs.
