Murillo’s Trucking Case Settles for $54,000

Murillo’s Trucking will pay $54,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $27,000 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $27,000 will go to the Installation Of Air Filtration Systems In Schools Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP),  administered by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).  This settlement was reached in September 2017.

An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Murillo’s Trucking failed to bring eighteen (18) of their heavy duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards.  ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation (TB ) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2025 (13 CCR § 2025).  To settle the case, Murillo’s Trucking agreed to the $54,000 penalty and to comply with TB and other ARB programs.
