Premier Marine, LLC Settles For $6,000
In April 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Premier Marine, LLC (PREMIER), with its principal location in Big Lake, Minnesota, for the company’s violation of the Evaporative Emissions Requirements for Spark-Ignition Marine Watercraft with Gasoline-Fueled Engines Regulation (SIMW Evaporative Regulation), under California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2850-2869.
PREMIER voluntarily disclosed potential violations they discovered to CARB. CARB’s subsequent investigation identified and documented that PREMIER manufactured for sale, sold, and introduced into commerce in California new Spark-Ignition Marine Watercraft (SIMW) that had not received a CARB Executive Order. To settle the case, PREMIER agreed to the penalty of $2,000 per violation for a total of $6,000.
PREMIER fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. The total penalty amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. Terms of the settlement include a requirement for PREMIER to comply with CARB regulations going forward.
