Weiman Products, LLC Case Settles for $40,000
Weiman Products, LLC (Gurnee, Illinois) sold, supplied, and/or offered for sale a non-compliant Multi-purpose Solvent in California. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of OOPS! Extreme Remover that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the 10 percent limit for the Multi-purpose Solvent: Aerosol category specified in title 17 California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 1.10 tons of excess VOC emissions and 0.89 tons of excess aromatic compound emissions, based upon the formulation and the sales information provided by Weiman Products, LLC. Weiman Products, LLC immediately ceased sales of the product in California while changes are made to produce a compliant product.
