Thrasio, LLC Settles For $78,150
In July 2022, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Thrasio, LLC (Thrasio) of Walpole, Massachusetts, reached a settlement agreement in the amount $78,150 for Thrasio’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
An investigation by CARB staff revealed that Thrasio sold, supplied, and offered for sale in California, fabric refresher products and spot remover products that were not compliant with the Consumer Products Regulations. The Angry Orange Odor Eliminator and Angry Orange Bio-enzyme Pet Stain & Odor Eliminator products contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94509(a). The violation resulted in approximately 5.21 tons of excess VOC emissions in the “General Purpose Cleaner” category.
Thrasio fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. Thrasio reformulated these two products to be in compliance with the State’s Consumer Products Regulations.
The $78,150 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
