West Coast Refrigerated Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $4,500.00
In May 2013, West Coast Refrigerated Trucking Inc. paid $4,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,375.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,125.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that West Coast Refrigerated Trucking Inc. failed to bring its fleet in compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards provided for in the Statewide Truck and Bus (STB) regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the STB regulation. To settle the case, West Coast Refrigerated Trucking Inc. agreed to the $4,500.00 penalty and to comply with the STB and other ARB programs.
