Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. Case Settles for $6,000

Between April 2011 and February 2014, Volkswagen Group of America (d/b/a Audi of America, Inc.) sold and supplied their Audi Active Foam Cleaner in California that was in violation of 5% VOC limit for Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners and their Audi Wheel Rim Cleaning Gel that was in violation of the 2% VOC limit for Tire or Wheel Cleaners. Neither of the products was intended to be sold in California. The company recalled all remaining containers of the non-compliant products and sales of both products were extremely small. Approximately 27.3 pounds of excess emissions resulted from the violation. The case was settled on July 29, 2014 for $6,000.
