V & L Produce, Inc. / V & L Transportation, Inc. Settles for $15,000

In May 2020, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a case for $15,000 with V & L Produce, Inc. / V & L Transportation, Inc. (V & L), located in Vernon, California.  An investigation by CARB showed that V & L failed to test, measure, record, and maintain records of smoke emissions for its fleet of heavy-duty vehicles for years 2017 and 2018, in violation of 13 CCR § 2190 et seq.  CARB documented that V & L failed to bring the TRU fleet in compliance with applicable in-use performance standards, failed to apply and affix ARB IDNs, and failed to submit operator reports in violation of HSC § 39674. 

In addition to the penalty of $15,000, V & L agreed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program, the TRU Air Toxic Control Measure, and other CARB programs.
