Supervalu - Albertsons Case Settles for $9,000

On July 3, 2012, a case was settled with Supervalu - Albertsons and with their manufacturer, Vi-Jon, for a hair styling product named Equaline Hair Tonic. This product violated the VOC limit specified in Title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509 (a) in the category of “Hair Styling Product: all other forms”. Total sale of this product in California between 2007 and 2011 resulted in 0.63 tons of excess VOC emissions. The company paid $9,000 to settle the case.
