Sterling Express Services, Inc. Case Settles for $28,875.00
Sterling Express Services, Inc. agreed to pay $28,875.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $21,656.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $7,219.00 to the Peralta Colleges Foundation for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in June of 2013.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Sterling Express Services Inc failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) Regulation by failing to test trucks in 2011 and 2012 as required per the regulation.
