Staples, Inc. and Sourcingpartner, Inc. Case Settles for $4,100

On March 13, 2015, a Consumer Products case was settled with Staples, Inc. and Sourcingpartner, Inc. for selling and/or supplying non-compliant General Purpose Cleaner, non-aerosol, wipe products in California, as specified in Title 17, CCR, section 94509(a). The wipes sold between November 2011 and December 2012 were in violation of the General Purpose Cleaner, non-aerosol VOC limit of 4.0% by weight, and the wipes sold between January 2013 and November 2014, were in violation of the General Purpose Cleaner, non-aerosol VOC limit of 0.5% by weight. By exceeding their applicable VOC compound content limits, these products contributed 0.08 tons of excess VOC emissions to California’s air. Staples/Sourcingpartner paid $4,100 to settle this case.
