Sportsman's Warehouse Case Settles for $5,000
On April 30, 2013, a case was settled with Sportsman’s Warehouse for selling “Flush-Out” subject to the VOC limit for General Purpose Degreaser category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 10 percent by weight VOC limit and contained Methylene Chloride and Perchloroethylene which are prohibited compounds for this category. The label indicated the product was not to be sold in California. There were approximately 0.005 tons of excess VOC emissions, and 0.02 tons of Toxic Compound emissions. The company paid $5,000 to settle the case.
