Southwick & Son Trucking Case Settles for $4,250
Southwick & Son Trucking will pay $4,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulation: $3,188.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,062.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Southwick & Son Trucking failed to bring one of their vehicles into compliance with the particulate matter BACT requirements. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (T&B) Regulation. To settle the case, Southwick & Son Trucking agreed to the $4,250.00 penalty and to comply with T&B and other ARB programs.
