SJ Creations, Incorporated Settles For $5,000
In June 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and SJ Creations, Incorporated (SJ Creations) of Leucadia, California, reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $5,000. SJ Creations sold, supplied, offered for sale and/or manufactured a fabric refresher (nonaerosol) product for use in California containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (17CCR), section 94509(a). The VOC violation resulted in 0.02 tons of excess VOC emissions. The product displayed a code that represents the date of manufacture; however, an explanation of the code was not filed with CARB as required in 17 CCR section 94512(b). To come into compliance, SJ Creations is reformulating the product as well as submitting a key for the date code to CARB.
