Shell Oil Products US Case Settlement 2016
Shell Oil Products US Case Settles for $223,000
In 2015 Shell Oil Products US disclosed that it had overreported fuel volumes by significant amounts in earlier years. Fuel owned at distribution terminals at that time did not have a Cap-and-Trade obligation, but was reportable. Shell had mistakenly included fuel at terminals where Shell did not own the fuel. Shell self reported the error immediately upon discovery, and has taken corrective action for future reports.
