Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC Case Settles for $12,000
On October 6, 2010, Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC settled violations of the Consumer Products Regulations for selling uncertified “Charcoal Lighter Material” violations for $12,000 in lieu of litigation. The Notice of Violation involved Chefmate Charcoal Lighter Fluid, Round the House Charcoal Lighter Fluid, and additional “Charcoal Lighter Material” products self-reported by Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC. These products were manufactured by Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC, who failed to obtain an Executive Order from ARB prior to them being offered for sale into California. To comply with the Consumer Products Regulation, all “Charcoal Lighter Material” must be certified by a certified laboratory, obtain an Executive Order from ARB, and be marked with a date of manufacture.
