RMPK Trucking Case Settles for $3,500
In June 2015, RMPK Trucking agreed to pay $3,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $2,625.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $875.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that RMPK Trucking failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and failed to meet PM BACT requirements for all 2000 through 2004 engine model years by January 1, 2013 and for all 2005 through 2006 engine model years by January 1, 2014 as required by the Truck and Bus regulation (TB). ARB documented violations as they related to PSIP and TB. To settle the case, RMPK Trucking agreed to the $3,500.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB and other ARB programs.
