Premier Brands of America Inc. and Western Family Foods Inc. Case Settles for $50,000

Premier Brands of America Inc. (Mount Vernon, New York) and Western Family Foods Inc. (Tigard, Oregon) manufactured non-compliant aerosol deodorant products for sale in California. On December 12, 2012 a settlement was reached for violations involving an aerosol deodorant that contained concentrations of high volatile organic compounds (HVOCs) exceeding the Antiperspirant and Deodorant Category HVOC limit of 0% as specified in title 17, CCR, section 94502(a). The violation resulted in 0.51 tons of excess HVOC emissions. Premier Brands of America Inc. and Western Family Foods Inc. reformulated the deodorant products in order to become compliant.
