Pier 1 Imports and Scent Shop, Inc. Case Settles for $138,000.00

On April 15, 2013, a Consumer Products case was settled with Pier 1 Imports and Scent Shop, Inc. for selling and/or supplying non-compliant air fresheners. These products contributed to 7.0 tons excess Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC ) emissions due to exceeding the 18% by weight VOC limit set under Consumer Products Regulation for Air Fresheners: Liquid/pump sprays specified in Title 17, CCR, section 94509(a). Pier 1 Imports and Scent Shop Inc. paid $138,000 to settle this case.
