On January 11, 2007, Pep Boys settled the alleged violations in the Notice of Violation (NOV) for $6,000. Pep Boys continued to sell a non-compliant product called "small engine flo n' go gas pump" from May 15, 2005 to March 22, 2006, after the product had been recalled by the manufacturer as part of a settlement of an earlier NOV. This product did not meet the performance standards as codified in the Portable Fuel Containers and Spouts Regulation.
