Old Durham Wood Inc. Case Settles for $23,500.00
In May 2013, Old Durham Wood Inc. (Old Durham) agreed to pay $10,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations and return 13,500.00 to the Carl Moyer Voucher Incentive Program: $7,875.00 goes to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,125.00 goes to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program and $13,500.00 goes to the Sacramento Air Quality Management District for redistribution into the Carl Moyer Voucher Incentive Program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Old Durham failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). ARB documented violations as they related to the PSIP. To settle the case, Old Durham agreed to the 23,500.00 payments and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
