Numark Transportation Incorporated Case Settles for $15,500
In March 2015, Numark Transportation paid $15,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $11,625.00 was paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; and $3,875 00 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Numark Transportation failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). ARB documented violations as they related to PSIP. To settle the case, Numark Transportation agreed to the $15,500.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP Regulation and other ARB programs.
