Community Air Protection Program

In response to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), CARB established the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP or Program). The Program’s focus is to reduce exposure in communities most impacted by air pollution. Communities around the State are working together to develop and implement new strategies to measure air pollution and reduce health impacts.

July 22, 2026, Community Air Protection Program Consultation Group Meeting #4  |  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  |  CARB will host a hybrid public meeting for the Community Air Protection Consultation Group. Meeting materials will be made available on the meeting webpage.  

July 23, 2026, Annual Progress Update CARB Board Hearing  |  4:00 p.m.  |  The Community Air Protection Program's Annual Progress Report is now available for public comments. The annual progress report contains a comprehensive overview of the Program's accomplishments over the last year and has been developed in close collaboration with air districts.
