Panacea Products Corporation Settles For $26,500
In February 2026, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Panacea Products Corporation (Panacea) with its principal location in Columbus, Ohio, for the violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94507 et seq.
A CARB staff investigation revealed that Panacea sold, supplied, or offered for sale in the State of California charcoal lighter material products that did not meet certification requirements. (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94509(h).) To settle the case, Panacea agreed to the penalty of $26,500 for the violation. The amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
Panacea cooperated fully with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, Panacea no longer offers the product for sale in California.
