Amp Americas II Parent, LLC Settles For $300,000
In June 2025, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Amp Americas II Parent, LLC (Amp), with its principal location in Chicago, Illinois for the company’s subsidiaries’ violation of CARB’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard Regulation (LCFS Regulation), as specified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 95480 et seq.
Under the LCFS Regulation, each fuel pathway holder must submit an annual fuel pathway report (AFPR) to CARB. Upon review of the submitted reports, CARB staff discovered that the operational carbon intensity for some of the facilities owned by Amp for reporting years 2020-2023 exceeded the corresponding certified carbon intensities. CARB documented the violations as they related to the LCFS Regulation.
To settle the case, Amp agreed to the penalty of $300,000. This will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality.
Amp fully cooperated with CARB in the resolution of this matter, and worked with its partners to retire credits erroneously generated as a result of reporting fuels with inaccurate carbon intensity. Amp is now in compliance with CARB’s LCFS Regulation.
