003 | All vehicles with the ability to update vehicle software through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates |
| OTA software updates could reset a vehicle's On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) data and potentially result in a Not Ready (non-passing) emissions compliance test. | Consider delaying the installation of an OTA update if the vehicle has an upcoming emissions compliance test. After an OTA, the vehicle needs sufficient time and operation to complete the OBD system self-checks to determine the presence or absence of a diagnostic trouble code. You should continue operating the vehicle under normal business practices for a few days at minimum and then have the vehicle tested.
