California Association of Public Procurement Officials 2025 Annual Conference & Suppliers Exposition: On January 12-15 in Sacramento, CARB staff will participate in the California Association of Public Procurement Officials 2025 Annual Conference & Suppliers Exposition (CAPPO25) and answer questions about Clean Truck Check, the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation, and other topics. This event convenes public procurement professionals from various agencies to share best practices, new laws, and innovative solutions. CAPPO is a nonprofit organization and the oldest public procurement association in the United States. It focuses on maintaining the highest standards of professional behavior and conduct in public procurement. CAPPO provides tools to buyers working in the public sector in order to help with professional skill development and help build and strengthen effective procurement departments.
California Climate Investments Benefit Assessment Tool Virtual Question-and-Answer Session: On January 13 via remote access, CARB will host a question-and-answer (Q&A) session on the revised California Climate Investments benefit assessment tool. This will be the second of two scheduled sessions; the first one took place on January 7. Previously referred to as benefit criteria tables, these benefit assessment tools have been updated and are available for public review through January 17. The benefit assessment tools are used by administering agencies and applicants to determine if their California Climate Investments projects are providing direct, meaningful, and assured benefits to overburdened communities. These tools were updated to reflect changes in the recently released 2024 Funding Guidelines for Agencies that Administer California Climate Investments. This Q&A session will provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions, share ideas, and learn more about the updates made.
Public Meeting on Community Engagement Model: On January 16 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting to present the updated Community Engagement Model. This model is a living internal guidance document designed to improve collaboration with communities, guide CARB staff in incorporating relevant and meaningful community engagement practices, and improve California’s air quality. The Community Engagement Model was developed by CARB’s Community Engagement and Capacity Building Workgroup, which consists of staff from across the agency who consult with internal and external partners as well as community experts in order to develop a plan that incorporates community needs, expertise, and lived experiences.
Webinar on 2023 Consumer and Commercial Products Survey: On January 16 via remote access, CARB will host a webinar to provide details on the toxicity ranking methodology used for the 2023 Consumer and Commercial Products Survey (2023 Survey). This will be the third webinar held on the 2023 Survey. CARB staff will present the foundation and core logic of the toxicity ranking methodology, an in-depth explanation of the calculations used to determine toxicity scores, and how the results helped guide the toxicity-driven selection of categories for the 2023 Survey. The new survey data will be used to discuss next steps including plans for prohibiting para-chlorobenzotrifluoride (PCBTF). More information will be posted in the Webinars & Materials – 2023 Consumer and Commercial Products Survey page before this meeting.
