Regional Listening Sessions on Zero-Emission Space and Water Heater Standards: On October 28 and October 29 via remote access, CARB will host regional listening sessions in a public-engagement effort to inform the development of zero-greenhouse-gas-emission standards for space and water heaters. These standards seek to reduce emissions from new space and water heaters sold in the State to help meet California’s climate goals and federal air quality standards. CARB staff will share information, listen to public comment, and identify potential solutions.
Advanced Clean Fleets Truck Regulation Implementation Group Meeting: On October 29 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting of the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) Truck Implementation Group (TRIG) to discuss outreach. CARB adopted the ACF Regulation on April 28, 2023, and it became effective on October 1, 2023. The purpose of this meeting is to identify and develop outreach methods to inform fleets of the ACF Regulation. The public will have the opportunity to provide comment and ask questions as time permits. Consumer and Commercial Product Survey Webinar: On October 29 via remote access, CARB will host an initial webinar to discuss proposed categories selected for the 2023 Consumer and Commercial Products Survey, which is set to launch in early December. CARB’s Consumer Products Program is a key part of overall efforts to reduce the amount of smog-forming volatile organic compounds, toxic air contaminants, and greenhouse gases that are emitted from the use of chemically formulated consumer products in California.
Research Seminar — Improving the Efficiency of Urban Freight Systems in California: On October 29 via remote access, CARB will host a research study seminar to evaluate the urban freight system in California. Urban freight is the collection, transportation, and delivery of goods within cities. Staff will discuss how urban freight impacts communities and the recent trends and challenges, including cleaner technology and strategies that can help reduce emissions.
Public Workgroup on Planning and Capacity Building Funding: On October 30 via remote access, CARB will host a public workgroup to discuss the upcoming Requests for Applications for Fiscal Year 2023-24 Planning and Capacity Building. Staff will discuss the anticipated timeline, available funding, the draft application format, eligibility requirements, and technical assistance.
Webinar on Advanced Clean Fleets Exemptions and Extensions: On November 1 via remote access, CARB will host a public webinar to discuss exemptions and extensions for the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) Regulation. The session will be limited to 1,000 participants. A recording will be available on the ACF webpage.
