ARBOC Specialty Vehicles, LLC Settles For $37,000
In May 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with ARBOC Specialty Vehicles, LLC (ARBOC) with its principal location in Middlebury, Indiana, for the company’s violation of the Motor Vehicle Pollution Control Devices Regulation (Vehicle Standards), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 1900-2048.
ARBOC voluntarily disclosed to CARB potential violations they discovered. A subsequent investigation by CARB’s Enforcement Division staff confirmed and documented that ARBOC violated certification requirements under California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 1956.8 and California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 95663.
To settle the case, ARBOC agreed to the penalty of $1,000 per violation for a total of penalty amount of $37,000. The civil penalty amount of $37,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
Terms of the settlement include a requirement for ARBOC to comply with all CARB regulations going forward. ARBOC self-disclosed this matter and fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter.
